Trust is like water

One of my favourite elements in life is water. I am most happy when I am or, in the water, or living as the flow of water.

And when I think of the fact that we, as humans, consist of mainly water, I think about one of the sayings of the great Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu:

"Water is fluid, soft and yielding" he said. But, he adds, although water is soft, water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield.

Over the years I have come to learn the great truth of this: the yielding power of water rather than the power of force. I have come to experience this great power, and I know that great miracles can happen both IN the water, as well as living our life AS water.

So every day I am sure to ask myself: to what can I yield today? Where am I still holding resistance? How can I surrender to life's flow?

Because whatever is fluid, soft and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. What is soft is strong.

While some may think that surrendering is weak, true power resides in this act of yielding. A power that comes from within. A power that is aligned with the flow of life. And life is intelligent, beyond our knowing.

Because did you know that you actually don't have to worry so much all the time when you are able to yield and let go? That things will flow automatically the moment you surrender.

The soft feminine power of water seeps through the cracks where no other force can go.

So no matter how uncertain, scary, or foolish an act, a decision, or an idea might seem, trust that when it arises out of that fluid, soft and yielding power, this is when great things will happen.

Trust, this is the power of water.
